Skylark “Sky” Kal and his best friend, Royce, seem like two ordinary orphans growing up in Toronto—until a devastating car accident changes everything. When Sky miraculously survives the crash, they realize the accident has unlocked incredible powers within him. Not only that, the event unfolded just as Royce predicted it in a series of disturbing dreams.

Their lives take another dramatic turn while testing Sky’s newfound powers, and they stumble upon a hidden world composed of eight mystical cities scattered across the globe. They are taken to one of those cities, New Troy, a glittering metropolis made of towering gemstone skyscrapers and nestled in the Canadian Rockies. There, they’re enrolled into an academy run by the Order of the Celestial Knights, the social order dedicated to training celestials to use their abilities for the greater good.

As the boys struggle to fit into this dazzling new world, Sky finds himself at the centre of a prophecy which forces him to compete in a ruthless, deadly competition where failure means death, while victory would yield the universe’s ultimate prize: the ability to manipulate time.
